Bubbles

You guys really helped to make a cool memory for the juniors today. They loved the bubbles that you shared with them. Some of your devices worked better than the shop made ones. Declan, you had a superb idea of making a transparent shield to protect the eyes from the popping soap. Brill.
Luke's Magic Liquid was spectacular for making the bigger bubbles and Wills Wonder Concoction helped to create many marvelous bubbles also.
I would love to know why these solutions worked so well. If you find out please let me know!

Free Poverty
http://www.freepoverty.com/ This challenging game has taken Room One by storm. Keep note of your high score and let me know when your score reaches new heights. It's great that we are helping people in need while we learn!
Count Down
The end of the year is so close. However, that is not an excuse for manners to slip and cruelty to begin. Let's keep being the groovy class we have been all year.
I am aware that we are all very tired and hot, therefore this week's homework was very simple AND it will be the last lot of homework for the year.
Please post suggestions on how we can make Natasha's last day at Pahoia amazing this Friday. It will be VERY sad to say goodbye to such a fab person. She will be pleased to speak French all day again though.

Estelle's camp reflection
I went to camp with 52 children and 12 adults, my favourite companions on camp were Georgia, my Dad, Shannon, Bianca, Amy, Rebecca, Saly and Lucy. They are my friends and I can cheer them up! The best adult helper was Lisa, she supplied the food and she was really funny!
One Tree Hill was fascinating on Wednesday because it has no tree. Ice skating was my highlight of this fascinating day. But Evianah broke her wrist and that's what put a downer on everyone. It was like a day at the Gold Coast which means it was FUN!
My everlasting memories of camp are that I beat my Dad at the luge, tree adventures, ice skating, Tip Top, Air Force Dogs and the camp concert. My dad fell asleep for the forth time in a row on Friday, that was pretty funny.
The camp thoughts of Douglas.

I learnt a lot at the different museums and on the scavenger hunt in the CBD. The funniest thing that happened on Tuesday was when the dog guy got bitten. It was a struggle to get to the top of Rangitoto but it was worth it because of the great view. The lava caves were awesome. We had a torch with us which helped us. I was in the 'beached' scene for the camp concert, it was hilarious. The best adult helper was Lisa because she cooked our dinners. I would like to try ice skating again.

Camp review, by Nicola.

The best thing we did on Monday was the luge, it was my first time and it was fun. My room at camp was warm and cosy. I learnt how to work a luge and that Auckland has a poo pond and you can drive up Mt Eden.
On Tuesday it was weird when Sam, Evianah and I talked to Salty Sam about washing our hair on a long sea journey.
On Wednesday I learnt that Western Springs is a man made lake that was made to get water to the people in Auckland and I learnt how to ice skate. So much happened that day that I just couldn't guess what would happen next.
Rangitoto was tiring, fun, different, rocky, steep and it had a beautiful view. Mrs Murphy looked after people when they got homesick, she was my favourite camp helper. Sam and Jemima were really cool too.
The camp musings of Ashalyn

If I could do anything twice it would be luging and ice skating because I got to go fast but I need more practise at ice skating. I loved sleeping at night on camp because I was so tired. Mrs Murphy was a great adult helper because she treated us like her own kids. I was proud of myself at Tree Adventures because I conquered my fear and it was fun doing different things there. It was funny when Tuesday clipped on the wrong thing, she was safe but stuck!
I really enjoyed going on the two planes at Whenuapai, it was fascinating.
Rangitoto was hot, boiling, hard, cold, tough, tiring, high and hurtful. I reached the summit and saw the refreshing water, when I reached the crater I squeezed the hot, tough rock in my hand and threw it into the crater and yelled, 'go down people of the mud!' just like in 'Under the Mountain'. The concert was hilarious, everyone won something.
Declan's opinions about camp.

Doug was the best adult helper on camp, he helped with the volleyball net.
My everlasting memory of camp was seeing a zomby (mummie). I really liked the races at the ice skating rink. I won.
The funniest thing that happened on Friday was when Mrs M got stuck in a barrel at Tree Adventures.
Walking up Rangitoto was long and boring. On the walk back down I rolled. I went to sleep behind my dad at the wharf while we waited for the ferry. The concert was funny with the mums doing a weird song.
Asia's camp ponderings.

On Thursday at camp I saw a spectacular volcano. Its lava that was frozen. It was like a moment in time that I felt in my hands. It seemed jagged and weird. It smelt like... old salty sea and fresh air but it was boiling.
The funniest thing that happened on Friday was Miss B being so scared at Tree Adventures, but she improved. It was funny when we pretended that we were escaping from Paremoremo prison. The best adult helper was Mrs Murphy because she showed 100% care to all of us.
Luging was the most fun thing ever, I would love to do it again. Everything was the best, but over all at the end the best thing was the BIG SLEEP because I was soooooooo tired.

Adam's camp

I loved the Sky Tower, it was so high. Going on an Air Force base was very cool too. It was hard walking up Rangitoto but on the way down it was better because we went into the lava caves, they were the best thing on the mountain. The camp concert was so funny. The dogs won!Tree Adventures was the best thing on the camp, I would like to go again.
